Obama Toots Horn About Student Loan Aid
While it's true that student loan aid is a necessary government bailout, it's also clear that the Obama administration is trying to buy off the youth vote by leveraging the student loan crisis. Calls to Direct Loans are now answered with an Orwellian greeting message about the "special" student loan aid program "announced by the Obama administration". It's interesting to note that 1) Senator Obama actually missed both votes on the student loan interest bill he now wants Congress to extend, and 2) struggling Americans weren't greeted with an Orwellian message about the "special" stimulus program "announced by the Bush administration" when they received their $600 stimulus checks at the beginning of this depression.

In the lead segment of the episode, William Binney, former technical director of the National Security Agency, makes the bold claim that his prior employer collects, stores, and data mines personally-identifiable electronic communications of American citizens using a system he helped create. Around the 15 minute mark, Benny discusses a federal raid of his of residence that took place immediately after he and some of his former co-workers filed a complaint about the program with the Department of Defense.
